Hey guys!  As the weekend comes to an end, I am getting pretty excited about the upcoming week.  Usually Sunday nights make me a little sad… Kids going back to school tomorrow, My hubby back to work… But tonight, I am thinking about the short work week for all of us, THANKSGIVING, which is HANDS DOWN my favorite holiday and then Black Friday… WAHOOO which means online shopping, maybe I will get out to a store or two late in the day, because the majority of the day will be getting my Christmas decorating on!!! I may or may not stay in my PJ’s until time to leave the house…regardless of what time 🙊

This may sound crazy, but I love the simplicity of Thanksgiving.  Family time, dinner, which doesn’t really change much from year to year, and the gratefulness that surrounds the whole day, and actually even starts with traditions on Wednesday afternoon for us. HOWEVER, I love the CRAZINESS that goes around the holiday season.  I think every weekend in the month of December is already booked for us, and it makes my heart happy!

Since I started this blog at the beginning of 2018, I thought it would be fun to show you guys how I decorated for Christmas last year.  Maybe you can get a little inspiration.  Remember the main goal is to do what is best for you and your family.  Making a house YOUR home, a place that is functional and makes you want to stay.  As long as it is created with love and care, it doesn’t matter how much or where your decor has come from.

Okay lets get this fun little home tour started!

Over 100 years old… “OUR HOME ❤️”

Some just see steps, but these steps have seen some traffic.  Being in the village, we are the pit stop for the bathroom breaks, clothes changing for extended family and friends, Kids, lots and lots of kids!  I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Get your hot cocoa, your peppermint mocha or your spike Holiday yumminess and COME ON IN!!

As you may notice, I decorate the day after Thanksgiving, and then a few weeks before Christmas, we go and cut down a fresh Christmas tree, and I have to move the furniture around and try to make it all fit.  May seem crazy, but I can’t wait that long to decorate and I can’t have that empty space for all those weeks prior to getting our tree.  Work, yes, but it is what works for us in our 1000 square foot little house!

Again, I am not a professional, and I don’t PROP my photos.  These baskets next to the Christmas Flowers Tin housed the tractors and wooden building strips for my then 2 year old.  If I had to move all the items that make our house functional and then took pictures, this blog would NEVER be written, hahaha!  Maybe someone will get a tip regarding making toys accessible, yet not letting them take over your life and HOUSE 🤦🏼‍♀️

Come on into our dining room. I wasn’t blogging or even thinking about blogging, so I don’t have a picture of our whole dining room, but here are some bits and pieces ❤️

Little tip: I took this large sign and flipped it over, painted the back with black chalkboard paint and use it year round in the same spot.  I am ready to get this beautifulness flipped back over for Christmas soon🎄

I wish I got some photos of how I added some Holiday cheer to our kitchen and the play kitchen area.  But I didn’t, but I will this season!

Some holiday cheer on my dresser in our bedroom:

Thank you so much for stopping by on this fun holiday home tour.  Happy Thanksgiving, and Happy Decorating (even if you are a Christmas Eve’er, whatever works for you!!!)

XOXOX,

Leandra
