We are day 5 into our spring break and it has been exactly what we all needed!  Staycation at home, sleeping in, enjoying one another, with a mix of teenage arguing and toddler messes!  I try not to let the arguing escalate to the point of having to “freak out” as I like to call it.  One thing I do not like is yelling at my kiddos.  It makes me sad and it makes them sad (proof that they do care).  So I have been sneaking in the “being kind” and “appreciating our differences” talk at every chance I get.  They have surprised me a few times in the last couple weeks (not in a good way, nothing over the top, just loosing sight of what is really important) and I hope it is just the “teenager” in them… Ughhh!  I need to nip in the bootie NOW!

Anyway, this post wasn’t suppose to be about mothering teenagers, haha, it was about something I read on instagram yesterday that really stuck with me… I follow several, well honestly hundreds of amazing home/decorating/farmhouse accounts and one of my favs The Little Brick Farmhouse (go follow Shawna if you don’t already) posted about her goal of living in the moment and living intentionally.  And it was funny because I didn’t think much about it when I first read it, but than while I was laying in bed last night, I thought about parenting intentionally and how much it connected to Shawna’s goal of living intentionally.  I have always been a spontaneous mom, surprising the kids with day trips, and random adventures and I will continue with that for as long as I am living.  I have seen a lot of heart ache, close family members suffering and passing away from Cancer and nieces and nephews living with no parents, thus knowing the importance of making memories and living each day to the fullest.  Intentionally Living…. Taking those trips (even free day trips), making them laugh (even when they are 15 and 14), keeping us young at heart.  I  let their friends sleep over (even two nights in a row) Crazy, right! Even when it is noisy and messy, let the two year old help you cook, bake and even crack eggs.  It is easier to make them go to bed at a specific time, and cleaner to do the cooking alone, but these months seem to be flying by, so live intentionally!  Ohhh and DANCE.. Kitchens are for Dancing, Living rooms, cars, everything is a dance floor!

GUYS,  it is already APRIL of 2018… What?  Crazy when I say that aloud.  New Years, Valentines Day, Winter Break from school, St. Paddy’s Day, (the parade, green beer and Jameson), and Easter has all come and gone for this year…  So lets all go out and live in the moment.  Live intentionally 🙂

I am signing off to go watch the last Fixer Upper… Bitter Sweet for sure..

Have a GREAT night, thank you for stopping by! As always, comments are encouraged 🙂

XOXO
