Apple Season is finally here in the Northeast and this Fall loving Momma couldn’t be more happy!  I found this Apple Bread Recipe from Leslie’s @my100yearoldhome blog.  She was joining other bloggers and taking recipes from Joanna Gaines and making them their own by altering her recipes.  Click on the link to see how Leslie made the Apple Bread!  I sort of did what they were doing, but altered Leslies recipe some and it was a hit!

Let’s get right to it:

The Ingredients

1/2 cup of unsalted butter (melted)

3/4 cups of sugar

2 eggs

1 cup of buttermilk

2 teaspoons of pure vanilla extract

2.5 cups of all purpose flour ( I use King Arthurs)

2.5 teaspoons of baking powder

1 teaspoon of salt

2.5 teaspoon of cinnamon

3 cups of diced Granny Smith Apples

Topping:

1/3 cup of brown sugar

1/3 cup of sugar

1/2 cup of all purpose flour

5.5 tablespoons of unsalted butter (melted)

1 teaspoon of cinnamon

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.  Lightly spray a loaf pan with Pam non-stick spray (I use the baking version with flour).  Put to the side.

Start with making the topping.  Mix the brown sugar, sugar, flour and cinnamon together.  Add melted butter and mix together.  Put to the side.

In another bowl, add melted butter to the sugar and mix well.  Add in eggs, buttermilk and vanilla and mix by hand.  Once fully combined, add flour but do not mix into the wet, let it rest on top.  In the flour, add the baking powder and salt, and mix into the flour, without mixing into the wet ingredients.  Add cinnamon and then mix all together with the wet ingredients until all the dry has been mixed into the wet.  Add in diced apples, lightly mixing.

Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan, and add topping on the top, lightly patting with the back of a spoon.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 55 mins or until a knife or toothpick poked in the middle, comes out clean.

Cool and Enjoy!

XOXO
