As we get closer to Thanksgiving, I continue to think about how much I have to be thankful for.  Our little home feels like a home, not just a building.  Our family is healthy, and we enjoy being together.  Which is a miracle with teenagers in the house.  We continue to have LOTS of mouths to feed at dinner, and teenage boys can eat, but there is something about hearing: “Leandra that was sooo good, can I get some more?” ❤️ And the girls, they have been LOVING walking tacos.

Instead of using a taco shell, just open up a single bag of Doritos and crush them up some, and add all the toppings you would like! Something pretty cool about eating out of a Dorito bag, I guess?  They are GOOD, but I dumped my Doritos in a bowl, haha! A sure sign that I am getting old, haha!

Kids like eating at the table, with no phones, no TV, and just the company of each other.  They wouldn’t admit it, but the conversations are flowing, laughter and it give my husband and I all the feels.

We didn’t know what we were doing when we started raising teenagers.  I tried to lay the foundation down as they went through all the stages of childhood, But geez parenting can be hard.  You can do everything to the book (or wing it like we are) and who knows how they will turn out.  One of my main goals was the raise children who we would want to hang out with… so far so good 😊

This is where those conversations have been taking place:

And boy do they range…. I have literally spilt my food out, shocked at some of the stories.  I have laughed so hard that I had to ask our oldest’s best friend to stop until I could at least get some food down.  Then there is my nephew, he is sooo funny.  The things he comes out with, SMH for sure!

As I inserted this photo, I can still smell the Captain Morgan filling up the house. Not because my husband and I had a great time, mixing up drinks for a crazy night… Because you see that set up, the Kettle One, then the Captain on the wine rack… Glance down to the chair in the corner, that is where my Baby Bear eats.  She gets some of her clumsiness from me 🤭.  She was coming in hot with her bowl of Spinach, Artichoke Ravioli bake… Yup, hit that rack, Kettle One came down on the Captain, both end up on the floor, and the final:  Kettle One: 1  Captain Morgan: 0  Boy did it chatter.  Glass and liquor all OVER!!!  So the dining room sees some action, the good, the bad and the ugly!

I am thankful for it all 🙂

Have a great week!

Leandra
